What is Faith & Flyness?

Faith and Flyness is a community of believers comprised of modern women gathered for the sole purpose of living out our faith together. We believe that we were created to live in community with others so that we may teach through example, minister through testimony and grow through replication. Faith & Flyness is on a mission to provide modern women with real, radical, and relevant ministry.

What is this Ministry about?

Faith & Flyness goes way beyond having a sick dress code, a sensational shoe game and fly handbags. Don’t misinterpret us on this, looking fabulous is always on the agenda, but being Faith-filled and Fly is much more a matter of the heart. It begins in a personal relationship with the one who loves us most, Jesus Christ. Through that relationship we are then able to live a full and abundant life that draws others to Christ. This is what Faith & Flyness is all about… setting the example that this life of faith doesn’t have to be restricting, boring or luxury-free. We don’t focus on all of the “thou shall nots” but instead teach women to build an abundant life that honors God and centers around the principles of our faith… all while wearing their flyest stilettos.  Yes, we know that there is the school of religious thought that 1 Peter 3:3-4 tells us that it’s a sin to be fly. But here is what it actually says…

“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and a quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” 1 Peter 3:3-4

The scripture teaches us that the world we live in places a high price tag on looks and labels and as women we tend to place our sense of value in these same things. But God values what’s on the inside. He never forbids us from having these things just from improperly prioritizing them as the source of our worth. Plain and simple.

Fly Chics commit themselves to the reality that our lives, regardless of how fabulous we live them, are really for God’s glory.  We use modern technology, social events, small group bible studies and face-to-face relationship building to reach out to other women that have a desire to know or grow in Christ and we lead them into a lifestyle of faith by example.

No we aren’t perfect! But that is what is appealing to the women that we desire to reach. They aren’t looking for perfection but instead real women, having real dialogue/conversations around real issues that we encounter everyday in the journey of living out our faith. We teach faith in a language that speaks to the modern, progressive woman. This authenticity is what God uses to draw others into a relationship with Him.  If you are looking for a fabulous community of fly women to grow in your faith with, join us. We’d be honored to have you join our family.
